Privacy Policy

In short: Sfoglia does not collect, transmit, or sell your personal data. There is no account, no sign-up, and no server. Your word catalog, review schedule, session history, and settings are stored only on your device and never leave it.
What Sfoglia stores, and where
Sfoglia is an offline-first app. Everything it needs to function — the word catalog, your spaced-repetition progress, daily activity logs, saved words, and your daily-goal setting — is stored locally on your device using an on-device database (Hive). None of this data is uploaded to a server, because Sfoglia doesn't have one. Uninstalling the app permanently deletes all of it.
Pronunciation
Word and sentence pronunciation uses your device's built-in text-to-speech engine (Apple's or Android's on-device speech synthesizer). The text being spoken is processed by the operating system on your device; Sfoglia does not send it to a third-party speech service.
Notifications
If you allow notifications, Sfoglia schedules quiet daily study reminders using your device's local notification system. These are calculated and delivered entirely on-device, based only on your own local learning data — no push server or notification provider is involved.
Fonts
Sfoglia's typefaces (Playfair Display and Inter) are bundled with the app through Google Fonts' Flutter package. Depending on platform caching behavior, this may involve a network request to Google's font servers the first time a font is needed, subject to Google's privacy policy. No personal or learning data is included in that request.
What Sfoglia does not do
- No account or sign-up, so no name, email, or password is collected.
- No analytics or crash-reporting SDKs are active in the app.
- No advertising, and no ad-tracking identifiers are used.
- No data is sold or shared with third parties.
Children's privacy
Sfoglia is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from anyone, regardless of age — the app simply doesn't collect personal information from any user.
Changes to this policy
If Sfoglia's data practices ever change — for example, if optional analytics are added in a future version — this page will be updated first, with a new "last updated" date above.
